Rehabilitation Project works to restore the numbers and the dignity
of this native animal.

Golf Courses
Blue Canyon Country Club
hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic twice and continues to attract
an international caliber of golfer. Recently opened a second Lakes
course where the public is invited.
The Blue Canyon Country Club opened the Canyon Course in 1991 on
a rehabilitated Phuket tin mine that was abandoned once the valuable
ore was depleted. In the past eight years, the club has hosted the
prestigious Johnnie Walker Classic twice as well as the Honda Invitational.
And this year the Blue Canyon Country Club was named the Asian &
Pacific Golf Course of the Year in the 1999 Hertz International
Golf Travel Awards.
Not content with one award winning course, a second Lakes Course,
co-designed by Yoshikazu Kato and Gary Player, was opened for play
on 1st March, 1999.
The Lakes Course has been designed for a broader range of golfer
with silver tees being added in between red (ladies) and white (mens)
tees. With blue and black tees, a total of five sets of tees offer
a bigger difference in overall distances. Whatever length a ball
is hit and whatever standard golfer plays the course, enjoyment
is the result on this beautifully manicured golf course.
