phuket tours: 3 Perfect Days in Phuket

 Day 3

08:00
Breakfast at Phuket Yacht Club at Naiharn Beach. Great buffet with something for everyone. Watch the beachcombers and early morning swimmers from your vantage point at the Quarterdeck. Marvel at how well the building blends with the environment.

09:00
Drive past the windmills to Promthep Cape; stop and look at the view; note the sunset times on the sign so you can come back for one of the fabulous sunsets. Continue on the road past Rawai Beach, stopping at the Phuket Shell Museum to examine the more than 2000 specimens of seashells.

10:00
At Chalong Circle, take Chaofa Road to the Phuket Zoo. After viewing the collection of tropical birds, have your picture taken giving one of the friendly tigers a pat.

11:00
Double back to Chalong Circle and take the road leading to Wat Chalong, Phuket's largest temple. Try to arrive on a morning when the monks chant the Pali scriptures. Examine the gilded statutes of the monks who helped quell a rebellion of tin miners in 1876.

12:00
Continue down the road until you reach the massive Thai Naan Restaurant. The beautiful teak buildings house one of Phuket's largest buffets. If you have yet to try dim sum, this is a good place to sample these Chinese delicacies. Good selection of dessert items.

13:00
Drive into Phuket Town and stop at the junction of Thalang and Yaowarat Roads. Stroll along Thalang, stopping at the Loft. The old shophouse is more of a museum than store. The Chinese Niu opera tunics make great wall hangings. After the Loft, continue searching the neighborhood. Lots of interesting shops and architecture.

15:00
Drive up Rang Hill and rest your weary bones at the Tung Ka Café. The view and iced coffee are both great. Watch Phuket's yuppies exercise in the fitness park. Join them if your muscles need stretching.

17:00
Drive over the hills to Kata Beach. Admire the ambiance at the Boathouse Wine & Grill and then stroll through Lobster Square. Lots of new shops with quality handicrafts. Try a Tsunami Panic or one of the other fantastic cocktails at the Gung Restaurant while you admire the view of Kata Beach. The restaurant specializes in lobster dishes so stay on for dinner. Gung Yang Sauce Makham, lobster with spicy tamarind sauce, is something you'll never forget.

21:30
Finish your long day at the Simon Cabaret watching the famous show where the boys look like girls. Don't forget to make a reservation, the Simon's is always sold out.
