| André Kretschmann invites his guests to enjoy the pasta promotion at
the Sunset Café at The Chedi resort on Pansea Bay where he serves as General Manager. "Just
sitting in this open restaurant over the dramatic black swimming with views far
out into the ocean is about the most romantic anyone could imagine on Phuket,"
he assures. Sure enough, it is a beautiful calm day and guests are swimming, lying
around the pool or having lunch somehow mesmerized by the beauty of the view. The
Sunset Café serves a full menu for both lunch and dinner. The beauty of the
setting makes it a great place to take a special someone to The Chedi for a light
lunch before pursuing other afternoon activities. The menu features great salads
such as the Andaman Prawn Salad with avocado, green asparagus and tomato or a
tasty Caesar Salad with smoked salmon, cashew nuts and garlic croutons. There's
a roster of exotic soups including a fish consomme flavored with curry and served
with prawn wontons. For August there's a Pasta Promotion with fresh made tortellini
filled with pumpkin, spinach and cream ravioli, fettucini, linguini, penne and
capellini served with a remarkable array of sauces which may include pesto, capers,
olives, sun dried tomatoes or rock lobster. "This is the most elegant
menu in the most delightful setting," André continues, "I've managed
hotels from the United Kingdom to Hong Kong but I think an intimate meal at the
Sunset Café must rank as one of the best from my experience." André
has brought his artful touch to almost every part of The Chedi. Currently many
of the deluxe bungalows are being upgraded with distinctive fabrics and teakwood
and marble finishes. He takes a personal interest in every aspect of managing
the property. "There is no day when we don't try to make our product better,"
he explains. While André may be busy turning The Chedi into his version
of Heaven on Earth, romantic couples will find an ideal meal waiting at the Sunset
Café. Click here for more information about The
