How to get involved

We now need to develop awareness of this project to attract both vets to donate their time to Phuket and sponsors to provide the medicines these vets need to carry out this work.  This is a project about working together to realize a vision of Phuket where stray animals are a thing of the past.

How is the project being funded?

The Atigaro Project is a non-profit one. The visiting vets and locals work exclusively on a volunteer basis. Funding for equipment, medicines, transport and administration is solely on a donation/sponsorship basis.  So far the Project has been funded by tourist donations and from sponsorship from two of Phuket’s hotels. Tourists have been very impressed when they see the Project’s field clinics in action and have been very generous because they are thankful that something humane is being done to tackle the stray animal problem and humanely so.

For it's continual success the Project is seeking the financial support of corporate or private sponsorship. Also, apart from ongoing running costs the Project needs funding for a vehicle, an autoclave and washing machine.
